No, you do not need a referral to see a physiotherapist if you are attending as a private patient.
However, certain cases will need a GP referral. These include:

  • If you are seeking treatment for an injury that is a worker’s compensation claim or after a motor vehicle accident
  • If you are seeking treatment under the chronic disease management medicare program

Generally, initial consultations will take 40 minutes and the follow up consultation will be around 20 minutes. For a more accurate estimation of consult time, please contact us via phone.

No, you do not routinely require a scan prior to treatment. Through an examination we will advise you as to whether you need any further imaging for your treatment.

It is recommended to wear loose fitting clothing as your physiotherapist will most likely need to examine the affected area for treatment.

In some cases you may need to remove articles of clothing. If you are uncomfortable with this or would like to see a physiotherapist of a specific sex, please mention this during your booking.

For a referral, any scans such as X-rays, MRI’s and ultrasounds related to your concern are to be brought to your appointment.

Yes, if you have ancillary cover you should receive a rebate on our services.
